Aurora Showcased at APCB 2025: Advancing Ventilation Training in Pulmonary and Critical Care

 

It was a privilege to take part in this year’s Asian Pacific Congress on Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (APCB), held in conjunction with the 2025 Summer Workshop of the Taiwan Society of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. We were able to showcase Aurora, our advanced ventilation training manikin, and connected with medical professionals and institutions interested in enhancing their clinical training programs.

 

 

 

                    Although the focus of the event was on pulmonary and critical care advancements, we took the opportunity to highlight the importance of realistic ventilation training, especially for early-career healthcare professionals.

 

 

 

Aurora is powered by IngMar Medical’s cutting-edge Internal Simulated Lung (ISL) technology based on the renowned ASL 5000® Breathing Simulator. This internal, tetherless system allows realistic interaction with all forms of ventilation, including bag-valve mask (BVM), non-invasive (CPAP/BiPAP), and invasive mechanical ventilation. It simulates patient breathing, maintains therapeutic PEEP levels, and accurately mirrors a wide range of respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, ARDS, and more.

 

 

                    But Aurora is more than a ventilation task trainer. It’s a full-featured platform for team-based simulation. Learners can assess dynamic chest movement, interpret imaging, monitor patient vitals, and respond to changing scenarios in real time. Its transport-ready, wireless design supports immersive in-situ training, while built-in feedback systems provide objective performance data for BVM technique, CPR, and more.
